Raising Money for the OLC
David Baldwin (from St Peter’s Life-Line ) has been into school today to receive the cheque for £200 raised in Sycamore Class’s Celebration of Learning last week. Jacob and Savannah presented him with the cheque and he gave them a thank-you letter. He explained how this area of Kenya is going through a period of extreme drought at the moment so this £200 will make a huge difference to the children in the OLC school. Just 9p pays for a bowl of food for one child. Think what a difference our £200 will make! Thank you once again to the parents and grandparents of Sycamore Class for supporting OLC.

The current Year 2s and 3s took part in an Acrostic Poem competition last academic year. The company were so impressed with the children’s entries that they got published into a book. Not only that, but we have been awarded the Runner’s Up Award for the Young Writers Poetry Competition and we have received a bundle of books and a framed certificate!
We are very proud of the children’s success and we look forward to seeing these books in our library. Well done to all poets that entered!

Huge Donation for the Bridgwater Food Bank!
We enjoyed our Harvest Service today. It was wonderful to be back in the church and to have lots of parents join us.
The children read clearly and confidently and sang with real enthusiasm! It really was a joy to be there. Reverend Kirtsy was very impressed with everyone.
We have been completely overwhelmed with the donations for the Food Bank. The whole community has really supported our core value of compassion. At such a time where so many people are struggling, you have all been fantastic!
The representative from the Bridgwater Food Bank was blown away by how much we had from just 207 pupils. They asked me to pass on their thanks and wanted everyone to know what a huge difference this will make to the most vulnerable families within our community.
