Home-Learning
Where schools are supporting pupils remotely and sending work home, there is no expectation that lessons must be livestream. Effective blended learning enables schools to build this within the existing curriculum that a school has worked hard to develop for their context and to meet the needs of their learners. Click here for a one-page summary of our Home-Learning provision.
All live sessions will adhere to the school's Protocol for children attending online sessions with staff.
Expectations
Our Blended Learning Policy has been updated to reflect government requirements. It sets out the expectations for teachers, pupils and parents. Click here to access it from the policies page.
The amount of home-education provided should be, as a minimum:
- Key Stage 1: 3 hours a day on average across the cohort, with less for younger children
- Key Stage 2: 4 hours a day

How to access Home-Learning
By 9am each morning, teachers will upload the home-learning for the day to the class website page that can be access from the Children's Menu at: https://www.puritonprimaryschool.org.uk/Our-Children/
This will include information on each lesson and the resources to support the learning activities. Resources may be worksheets, Powerpoint presentations, photos of textbooks or links to online videos and other materials.
Keeping in touch: home-school communication
- Whenever possible, Teachers will start the week with a whole class “Check-in” using Microsoft Class Teams and round off the week’s learning with a whole class “Check-out”.
- Pupils and parents can email questions and completed work to the class teacher using the class email address. Feedback can be shared in this way also.
- Teachers may telephone parents to discuss any concerns raised or for conversations regarding a child's particular learning needs.
